Large, textured, stone-like letters spelling "THE 13.ORG" are centered against a dark, textured background.

We’re The 13, a non-profit startup with big goals: to use storytelling, art and the power of disruption to change the way people respond to the problems shaping our world. Our origin story, and our first piece of art is an illustrated book entitled The 13. The story follows Caleb, a social-justice lawyer who just happens to be a spider monkey. Caleb spends his days confronting injustice, broken systems and the absurdity of human behavior until a devastating personal tragedy changes him forever.Caleb comes to see that climate, justice, health, housing, information, inequality and the other forces shaping our lives aren’t separate crises at all. They’re connected and make up an entirely new definition of what “environment” really means. And that realization becomes The 13. The graphic novel is fiction. The 13 non-profit is not. The 13 supports 13 organizations doing extraordinary work, including Doctors Without Borders; World Central Kitchen; Charity: Water; The Moth; Love146; 350.org; Homeboy Industries; Habitat for Humanity; Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF); ProPublica; PEN America, Equal Justice Initiative; and the Union of Concerned Scientists. Your donation helps The 13 turn awareness into action by supporting organizations doing meaningful work in communities across the country and around the world. We believe trust is earned through transparency. Funds directed through the platform are tracked, outcomes are shared, and impact remains visible to the community that makes it possible. It's about seeing the whole environment differently and recognizing our power to shape it.
