Food insecurity is closer than many of us realize. In Stanly County, about 1 in 7 residents experience food insecurity. That can mean skipping meals, choosing less nutritious food, or making impossible trade-offs among groceries, rent, utilities, transportation, child care, and medicine. This September, Stanly Community Christian Ministry is joining Hunger Action Month with a simple invitation: Play Your Part. Put Faith Into Action.&nbsp; Learn about hunger in our community, share what you learn, support SCCM&rsquo;s food programs, organize a food drive, volunteer, or use your voice to protect access to nutritious food. Every action matters, and no one has to fight hunger alone. Every day at Stanly Community Christian Ministry, families and individuals come to us facing urgent situations: empty pantries, utility shut-off notices, housing instability, and uncertainty about where their next meal will come from. When those moments occur,&nbsp;we want to answer the call immediately and with urgency. Your partnership makes that possible. A gift today helps provide meals for neighbors experiencing hunger, emergency financial assistance for families in crisis, clothing for children and adults, and hope for those walking through difficult seasons.&nbsp;No donation is too small to make a meaningful impact.
