A red water bottle and bundles of green and silvery-blue herbs sit on a light-colored rock against a reddish-brown sandy background.

Your gift to Going Full Circle supports Indigenous people in reconnecting with our knowledge, responsibilities, and inherent power through decolonization and resurgence. Going Full Circle is a Matriarch Ways program that brings community members together to learn, reflect, and put decolonization into practice in ways that make sense for themselves, their families, and their Tribal communities. Through facilitated gatherings, a cohort together will explore the impacts of colonization while strengthening their relationships to land, identity, community, traditional knowledge, and one another. We believe decolonization is more than understanding what happened to our people. It is also about recognizing what remains, remembering who we are, and determining what we carry forward. When we give together, we help:

Support community projects that allow participants to put their knowledge and ideas into action

Support facilitated learning around colonization, decolonization, resurgence, identity, land, and community responsibility

Create opportunities for participants to learn from one another and develop approaches grounded in their own Tribal communities

Provide participants with stipends so community members are compensated for their time, knowledge, and commitment

Build connections between participants that can continue beyond each Going Full Circle cohort

Going Full Circle recognizes that our communities already carry knowledge, strength, and ways of being that have survived generations of attempts to separate us from them. Our work is not about giving people their power. It is about creating space to recognize the power that has always been there and strengthening the knowledge needed to carry it forward. Every contribution helps us continue bringing Indigenous people together to learn from the past, understand the systems impacting us today, and imagine what becomes possible when our decisions are once again grounded in our own values, relationships, and responsibilities. Going Full Circle reminds us that decolonization is not only about what we are moving away from. It is about remembering what we are returning to.
