Our first big goal for this foundation is planned for January 2026. We will be joining a trekking team to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania, Africa. Some of our team members are affected by Fabry&rsquo;s disease, so it will be a test of perseverance and willpower to push ourselves physically and mentally, and fight through the symptoms we live with. &nbsp;But we believe with prayer, training, and financial assistance, we will succeed.&nbsp; Overcoming difficult circumstances in life means taking on challenges with intention. Facing these challenges will push our comfort zones and in the end, will build resilience and personal growth. When you do hard things, God will lend his strength, and lead you through. &nbsp;Fabry disease is a X linked chromosomal genetic disorder. When passed from parent to child, it prevents the body&#39;s production of an enzyme, Alpha-galactosidase-A, which breaks down fat in the cells. This fat, globotraiosylceramide, accumulates in the cells, which in turn, causes damage and &nbsp;results in various symptoms including the sensation of burning hands and feet, inability to sweat, vertigo, memory and hearing loss. There is no cure, and without treatment, complications will escalate to include heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure.&nbsp; The mission of this foundation is multifold. Provide Fabry awareness through connection and communication. Promote a healthy lifestyle through hiking and trekking. Offer financial assistance to families and individuals we meet, despite their disease or hardship they&#39;re facing, and help them meet their needs or dreams.
