Right now, around the world and domestically, it is hard to find good news to celebrate. The U.S. economy is incredibly strained, funding for social services and healthcare is eroding, and world-wide, people have been dehumanized and hurt. However, many of us are fully committed to improving the world. One person at a time, the Pilsen Food Pantry shows care and compassion. Your support makes that happen. Food insecurity has increased in the past year and affects over 25% of Chicago households. Unacceptably high food prices, increasing SNAP restrictions, and even school lunch budget cuts are facing our community. In 2025, the pantry helped over 30,000 households, and we are on track to support even more in 2026. Until 10/31/2026, we are reaching out for support for the anti-hunger work of the Pilsen Food Pantry. We are dedicated to community wellness by confronting hunger, fighting racial and economic inequities, and creating a welcoming space for learning and cultural engagement. Our mission is vital in addressing social and health injustices with a focus on empowerment and sustainability.

Since 2022, to maintain a balanced inventory and consistent options from Monday to Friday, we have purchased extra produce. Your donations fulfill this critical gap and connect each and every pantry client to 50-60 servings of fresh produce (in addition to dozens of other food offerings) each time they visit.

A small portion of this fundraiser will also help support culturally responsive registration services - we are committed to meeting clients where they are, including via language, because our food insecure neighbors deserve dignity and respect.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us build a stronger and healthier community. As this is our only appeal for 2026, we appreciate your consideration and thank you for your generosity!
