05/03/2024 - Thank you all; we are fully funded.  Update 2024-04-14We cannot thank our supporters enough; The Snap-Its are almost fully funded!Through this effort as well as those that gave offline, we have almost completed our goal. Because of that, I lowered the "campaign target" for this crowdfunding campaign to more closely reflect our current status.Thank you, and God Bless! Greetings and Blessings! On Sunday, February 25th, the La Grande Adventist Christian School Robotics team, Snap-Its, attended the First Lego League Challenge / Adventist Robotics League (ARL) North Pacific Union Qualifying Tournament. There, our five-student team was recognized as the Tournament Champions and secured an invitation to the North American Division First Lego League Challenge Championship Tournament being held May 5, 2024 at Forest Lake Academy in Apopka, FL. On the surface, a robotics club is for learning about Technology and Science. In reality, it is so much more. In its partnership with the First Lego League (FLL), the ARL embraces the concept of "Gracious Professionalism™” through the values of Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun. While we each should consider our independent role in fulfilling Christ’s mission, these values play an important part of that work. In this I take the message of Ecclesiastes 4 to heart: (9Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor; 10 for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up!). This program is all about teamwork and grace; In our weekly, after-school meetings we emphasize working, playing, and competing as a team. May 5th is coming up quickly and Florida is a long way from La Grande, Oregon. The estimate of costs for the team and two coaches to attend this event would be about $8000, mostly due to significant airfare costs. We are working to raise as much money as possible in such a short amount of time to allow these students to go, compete at the next level, and receive recognition the have earned. We are asking for your help to support our team in getting to Florida. Every donation is appreciated greatly!
