A little history is in order.  

It was over 17 years ago now that I first walked into the Michael Job Centre Dining Hall. This is a huge structure that holds over 5000 folks and feeds what Dr PP Job called his, “Great Ladies of India!.”  Like it was yesterday, I can recall him saying, with such pride, here they eat, “Three Times Food!”   Strange syntax to these foreign ears but what he meant was, in this land where 2 meals a day is common for millions, millions more even less, his girls at MJC always had 3, 3 meals a day, every day,every day.

His legacy is so strong that even a dozen years after his passing, here at the home for the daughters of martyred Christians, they can still proudly boost of, 3 Times Food. Not just 3 meals every day, but the best food, the best rice, complete and nutritious and varied. I know. I'm here now and eat every day with the girls.  I’m a taste witness. That's like an eye witness with taste buds. ;-)

Some old men me like me decided we would like to ensure this practice continues but like old men everywhere, we need some help. As Christians did a little less than 2000 years ago, we are starting a Feeding Program. But unlike Stephen and the six (Acts 6) taking care of widows, we are working with orphans and the underprivileged girls the Boss has given us the privilege to care for here at the Michael Job Centre, near Boat Lake, Sulur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

Currently, that means about 1000 meals a day, 7 days a week, year round. The cost for this comes to about 80 rupees per day for each child. If my math is right (and it’s right…) that means 29,220 rupees per year or 2,435 rupees per month.  Under the current US Dollars to Rupees conversion, thats $29 a month per girl to provide the best food and filtered water. Basically a dollar a day per girl.

We need sponsors for our girls. Sooooo if you feel the same pull on our heart as I did 17 years ago when God got my attention, please help us.
