Franklin is just 4 months old and was born with a life-threatening heart defect called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). Without surgery to close off a&nbsp;vessel in his heart, &nbsp;this condition will lead to heart failure by one year of age. Because of his diagnosis, euthanasia was considered the only option for Franklin during his stay at the shelter. He was dumped at a high kill shelter by a breeder that was aware of his health concerns. Franklin has not had it easy. Luckily we got Franklin a one way ticket from the overcrowded CA shelter, to our little&nbsp;rescue in NY. With this surgery, Franklin is expected to live a completely normal, long life. Franklin is a playful, hilarious, loving puppy who deserves the opportunity to grow up and be loved for years to come.
