Help Us Build Sunbreak Animal Sanctuary From the Ground UpAt Sunbreak Animal Sanctuary, we believe every animal deserves a safe place to heal and a chance to thrive.Across the country, far too many animals face devastating outcomes simply due to shelter overcrowding. Senior pets, perfectly healthy mothers and their newborn litters, animals passed off as “medical cases,” and innocent lives who deteriorate under the stress of a standard kennel environment are often the most vulnerable. A single county animal shelter in Houston, TX averages 10-20 euthanizations of dogs a day due to the overpopulation crisis, and the statistics for cats are not any better (especially during kitten season). The ASPCA reported that approximately 597,000 shelter animals were euthanized in 2025 alone. These helpless animals have nowhere to go if no human steps up to give them a chance. Sunbreak was founded to mitigate that crisis. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, neglected, and displaced animals – providing comprehensive physical and behavioral care in a restorative, home-like environment in rural Pacific Northwest, while also promoting long-term animal welfare through community education. Why We Need You Right NowWe have secured our non-profit status, laid the legal foundation, and designed a vision centered entirely around the well-being of the animals in our care. Now, we need to build their physical home. Our initial $35,000 "From the Ground Up" launch campaign represents the crucial first phase of our sanctuary buildout, directly funding...

Secure Pastures & Fencing: Installing safe, durable perimeter fencing across our acreage so rescued dogs can safely run, decompress, and play – as well as building a secure catio for our feline friends.

Restorative Housing Suites: Building climate-controlled, low-stress living quarters designed to feel like a quiet home rather than a noisy shelter.

Inaugural Medical & Intake Suite: Establishing our on-site intake area stocked with emergency medical supplies, vaccines, and isolation gear to safely welcome new arrivals.

Essential Care & Sanitation: Equipping our facility with high-grade sanitation systems, clean water infrastructure, and enrichment tools to start saving lives immediately.

How You Can Help Us Break ThroughBecause we are hosting this campaign on Zeffy, 100% of your gift goes directly to our animals and facility buildout.
