As firefighters, we are wired to help others. It&rsquo;s in our nature, our training, and our daily mission. But when one of our own needs help, asking can be the hardest part. Today we, the Officers and Members of the Cecil Township Fire Department, are announcing a fundraising campaign for a member of our department, Justin Gondringer - Lieutenant, Trustee, Firefighter, Brother, Friend.&nbsp; Justin, or &quot;Gondy&quot; as he is known, has been a dedicated member of the Department for almost 20 years. In his position as Lieutenant, he is a leader and teacher to our members, and a brother to all. Always willing to lend a hand, Justin&rsquo;s technical expertise has been utilized both in the station and on the scene of countless emergencies.&nbsp;&nbsp; Justin lives in Cecil Township with his wife and two children. Both he and his wife work, but with his condition and treatments, they&rsquo;re both looking at significant time away from work. That, combined with the costs of living and childcare, The Gondringer&rsquo;s are looking for a little bit of help.&nbsp; In June 2025, Justin discovered some swelling in his neck. After seeing his doctor and some testing, Justin was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Justin has started his bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments and has stepped away from interior firefighting but has since stepped up as a dedicated and trustworthy driver for our apparatus and our crews.&nbsp;&nbsp; On behalf of the Gondringer family, the Cecil Township Fire Department is starting fundraising efforts to collect money, for bills, food, travel for treatments and any other costs associated to his recovery. 100% of all money raised will go to Justin and his family.&nbsp;&nbsp; Justin has a great outlook and sense of humor and on behalf of him, his family and the entire Cecil Township Fire Department, we thank you in advance for your donation, kind thoughts and support.
