A partnership between LakeEdge Learning Center + Fox Valley Community Learning CenterAfter the tornado devastated LakeEdge Learning Center’s current home and outdoor play area, LakeEdge and Fox Valley Community Learning Center (FVCLC) came together around an urgent need: giving children a safe place to play, explore, and learn again. We have the space. Now we need our community’s help to transform it.Our vision is to turn an open outdoor area on the FVCLC campus into a beautiful, nature-based learning and play environment with a shaded outdoor classroom, sensory and pollinator gardens, raised garden beds, natural climbing and balancing elements, loose-parts play, pathways, and places for children to gather and discover. While LakeEdge recovers from the tornado, children will be able to come to the FVCLC campus and use this new outdoor environment. And as LakeEdge transitions to its future home at FVCLC, what we build today will remain—a lasting investment in children, families, learning, and our community. But we cannot build it without help.We are raising funds and seeking volunteers, donated materials, skilled trades, landscaping support, and community partners to turn this vision into reality. Every contribution—from a few plants or a volunteer afternoon to sponsoring a garden, play area, or shade structure—moves us closer.Help us turn an empty space into a place where children can grow. Two organizations. One space. A community coming together to build what comes next.
