Build the Next Generation of Hotel OwnersHospitality is one of America&#39;s greatest engines of opportunity&mdash;one of the last industries where someone can start at the front desk and rise all the way to the top.Yet almost no one who works in hotels is ever shown a path to ownership.We believe that must change.Our mission is to create a pathway from employment to leadership&mdash;and ultimately to ownership&mdash;for anyone willing to learn the business.Our inaugural six-week Leadership Academy is designed to be completed online from anywhere, giving aspiring entrepreneurs the knowledge to understand what it truly takes to own hospitality assets through practical instruction in operations, leadership, finance, acquisitions, and entrepreneurship. For students located near participating partner hotels, optional hands-on learning experiences provide real-world exposure inside operating hospitality businesses, but the curriculum is designed to stand on its own and be accessible to anyone, anywhere.The Guest House in Natchez, Mississippi&mdash;believed to be the largest Black-owned antebellum mansion operating as a hotel in the United States&mdash;serves as the founding campus of this vision. Students don&#39;t just study hospitality&mdash;they can learn inside a real operating hotel, on a property that is its own proof of what ownership can mean.As Legacy Hospitality Institute grows, additional hotel partners will have the opportunity to become Leadership Campuses, expanding access to hands-on learning while keeping the core curriculum available to students everywhere.Today, this initiative operates through Kings Leadership, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
