💙 Carry on Gus's legacy 💙The Gustavo Pesce SFUWH Youth Memorial Fund honors Gustavo "Gus" Pesce, who started the San Francisco Sea Lions Youth Underwater Hockey program in 2008 at the MLK Jr. Pool in the Bayview. He recruited and coached kids as young as 10, and within a few years he was taking them to national tournaments and onto Team USA. Gifts to this fund have one purpose: helping youth athletes who couldn't otherwise afford it compete at world championships.  A small group of Gus's friends manages the fund, and his family approves every distribution. Where your gift goes:In 2024, we deployed $12,364.52 from the Fund to the Team USA U19 Men's team competing at Worlds Championships in Malaysia. Ten of the 12 players were SFUWH! The gift supported the whole team and covered about 25–30% of its costs. We're trying to raise another $12,000 to support SFUWH youth who earn a spot on Team USA U19 2028, which will be in Perth Australia.  USA Underwater Hockey provides very little funding, so families carry most of the travel costs. Your gift helps the next team of Sea Lions get there. Thank you, and our love to the Pesce-Ares family.
