PWMBA has received permission and support from NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, to build 2+ miles of beginner and intermediate singletrack at Canopus Lake in Clarence Fahnestock State Park. While these will be multi-use, they will be bike-optimized and signage will reflect it as such. PWMBA also garnered the support of the NYNJ Trail Conference, Friends of Fahnestock &amp; Hudson Highlands, and the towns of Philipstown and Putnam Valley. If we can raise enough funds, we can enlist the help of a professional trailbuilding company and get started this fall. We&#39;re tackling the beginner trail and making good progress, but there aren&#39;t enough volunteers nor time to build the rest of the trails that we have laid out and passed State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR). With facilities and concessions nearby, the enhanced Ridgeline will offer one flowy beginner trail, 2 downhill runs, and two technical climbing trails for riders looking to spin laps while honing their skill and fitness levels. Developing the Canopus Lake trails is just the beginning of a larger vision to enhance MTB opportunities in Putnam County.&nbsp;
