Standing for Those Who Stood for UsMy name is Munirah Small, and I founded The Return Salute House because I saw a need that could no longer be ignored.Every day, veterans who once answered the call to serve our country find themselves fighting a different battle. Some struggle with homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, unemployment, or simply trying to find their place in civilian life after years of service. Too often, they are expected to rebuild their lives without the support, structure, and stability they need to succeed. The Return Salute House was created to change that. Our mission is simple: to provide a safe, clean, structured, and supportive transitional living environment for veterans who are committed to rebuilding their lives. We believe that recovery and stability begin with more than just a roof overhead. They begin with dignity, accountability, purpose, and an environment that encourages growth. At The Return Salute House, residents will find more than housing. They will find a community that believes in them. They will have access to case management, recovery support, life skills development, employment assistance, and a structured environment designed to help them regain independence and confidence. What makes our program different is our commitment to excellence. We believe those who served our nation deserve more than overcrowded, neglected facilities. We are creating homes that are clean, welcoming, organized, and intentional. Every aspect of the environment is designed to reinforce self-worth, responsibility, and hope. Our philosophy is that environment shapes identity. When people are surrounded by dignity, structure, and respect, they begin to see themselves differently and make different choices for their future.Today, we are raising funds to launch our first Return Salute House. Donations will help us secure housing, furnish bedrooms, purchase beds and linens, provide household essentials, support transportation needs, obtain computers and office equipment, and ensure our residents have access to the resources necessary to successfully transition into independent living.Whether your gift is large or small, you are helping create opportunities for veterans who have sacrificed so much for all of us.They stood for us. Now it is our turn to stand for them.Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us build a place where healing, stability, and new beginnings can thrive. With gratitude,Munirah SmallFounder & Executive DirectorThe Return Salute House
