Honor the Legacy. Sustain the Mission. Secure the Future. Serving Our Neighbors Since 1985For more than 40 years, Camp Street Community Ministries has been a place of hope, compassion, and practical assistance in Providence, Rhode Island.Founded in 1985 by Mrs. Mamie Catlin, Camp Street began with a simple commitment: helping neighbors facing hunger and hardship. What started as a small community food pantry has grown into a ministry supported by volunteers, local businesses, faith communities, and generous individuals who believe everyone deserves dignity and care.Today, our food pantry serves approximately 120 households every week, while our free clothing ministry helps individuals and families access essential clothing at no cost. Our work brings people together across religious, racial, and cultural differences. Regardless of background or belief, everyone is welcome at Camp Street.Become a Community Giving PartnerKeeping Camp Street operating requires more than donated food and clothing. It takes refrigeration, transportation, utilities, building maintenance, and dedicated people who organize and distribute resources to our neighbors. Our annual operating budget is $187,200. Our funding plan anticipates $60,000 in grants, leaving a $127,200 community giving goal.To meet this need, we have developed a sustainable giving model built around 95 monthly giving partners, contributing at different levels from $25 to $1,000 per month. Our vision is to build a community of committed supporters whose recurring generosity provides a dependable financial foundation for Camp Street's future.Every giving level has a place in sustaining this work.Whether you contribute $25 a month, make a larger monthly commitment, or give a one-time gift, your generosity helps us continue serving our neighbors.Your Partnership Makes a DifferenceYour donation helps us:

Recover, store, and distribute food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Provide free clothing to individuals and families in need.

Maintain the refrigerators, freezers, vehicles, and facilities essential to our operations.

Support the volunteers and personnel who make our programs possible.

Strengthen our operational capacity and develop lasting community partnerships.

Build a sustainable organization capable of serving future generations.

Building a Sustainable Future TogetherFor more than four decades, Camp Street Community Ministries has been sustained by the generosity, sacrifice, and dedication of people who believe in serving their neighbors. Now, we are working to build a stronger, more sustainable organization for the future. Our goal is not simply to meet today's needs, but to establish the financial stability, operational capacity, and community partnerships necessary to continue this work for generations to come. Our 95-partner giving model is an important part of that vision.By building a dependable foundation of monthly support, we can move beyond the uncertainty of month-to-month fundraising, plan responsibly, maintain our facilities, support the people who make our programs possible, and expand our ability to serve. We want to ensure that the ministry Mrs. Mamie Catlin established in 1985 remains a source of hope and practical assistance for the next generation of Providence families.Join Us in Sustaining the MissionYour partnership is more than a donation. It is an investment in the future of Camp Street Community Ministries and the community we serve.Every contribution matters.
