Help Build the Next Chapter of the Del Norte County LibraryWe are seeking community donations to help bring a new Del Norte County Library to life in Downtown Crescent City! The library has grown far beyond the space we have today. We want to create a library that serves the whole community, at every stage of life: a place where children can explore and create, teens can learn and connect, adults can work and study, families can attend programs, and everyone can find the resources and support they need. Our new building will give us room to do things our current space simply cannot accommodate. A Library Built for Our CommunityWith a larger, more flexible space, we plan to create:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A vibrant children&#39;s area with dedicated art and exploration spaces, additional storage, and a children&#39;s restroom.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A teen and young adult space with computers, VR activities, peer tutoring, and room to grow our collection.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">More comfortable reading and gathering spaces for adults, families, and individuals who simply need a quiet place to spend time.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A dedicated Maker Space where community members can create, repair, experiment, and learn using tools such as 3D printers, Cricut machines, button makers, and other technology.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">An expanded Library of Things, allowing people to borrow not just books, but tools, games, educational equipment, kitchen items, craft supplies, telescopes, microscopes, and more.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Community meeting rooms where local organizations, clubs, educators, and community groups can gather and learn.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Enhanced&nbsp;Del Norte Reads services, bringing literacy and learning directly into the library. Increased access to Adult and Youth tutoring, High School Equivalency support, life and job skill training, drop in help, and all around community and Learner driven education.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Larger event and performance spaces for classes, presentations, movie nights, community events, and other programs.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">More computers and co-working space, including places where traveling professionals, students, and community members can work.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A self serve&nbsp;caf&eacute; and expanded Friends of the Library bookshop, creating another welcoming place to gather while supporting the library.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Additional storage and staff space, allowing us to expand our programs and collections without sacrificing public space.</li></ul>And we&#39;re not stopping there.
