HELP SAVE HANK: A 10-MONTH-OLD PIGLET FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFEHank needs us now more than ever.Last night at 6 PM we received an urgent call from our rescue partner, Eastern Snouts, about a 10-month-old piglet named Hank who was in grave danger all the way in Alabama. For the past two months, Hank has been unable to stand on his own. He has been falling over and struggling with severe neurological symptoms, and last night, his condition began to decline rapidly. His owners were terrified, knew something was terribly wrong, and simply did not have the resources to get him the emergency medical care he desperately needed. When we heard Hank’s story, we knew we had to act. We immediately stepped up, took guardianship of Hank, and arranged for him to be transported to Auburn University in Alabama, where he could receive the critical veterinary care he needs.Right now, Hank is in critical condition and fighting for his life. Our sweet boy has already endured so much, and we are holding on to hope that the incredible veterinary team can stabilize him. Once he is stable enough, we can begin further diagnostics to try to uncover what is causing his devastating neurological symptoms and determine what treatment options may be available. We wish we could tell you we know what lies ahead, but right now, there are so many unanswered questions. What we do know is that Hank deserves a chance. He deserves compassionate care, answers, and the opportunity to live a life where he can feel safe, comfortable, and loved. This is going to be a long, uncertain, and frightening road for Hank. His emergency care, hospitalization, diagnostics, and any treatment or rehabilitation he may need could become incredibly costly. We cannot do this alone. We are desperately hoping we can save Hank’s life. And if he can fight through this, our dream is to bring him all the way home to Rise of the Pig here in New York, where he can receive the continued care, support, and love he deserves.Today, we are asking our community to please rally around Hank.Every donation, no matter the amount, will help us fight for him and give him access to the medical care he needs. If you cannot donate, please share his story. Sharing can help us reach someone who may be able to make a difference in his fight.Hank is only 10 months old. He should have so much life ahead of him. We aren't ready to give up on him, and we hope you aren't either. Please keep sweet Hank in your thoughts, send him all the love you can, and help us fight for this precious little boy. Please donate. Please share. Please help us give Hank a chance. With hope and gratitude,Hank’s Rescue Team at Rise of the Pig
