Wally is a really, really good dog. He just needs a little more help learning that the world isn’t so scary. He needs to learn confidence and security. Living in the city means unexpected noises, sudden movements, people, traffic and new things around every corner. For a dog who startles easily, everyday life can quickly become overwhelming. His fosters have been incredible. They’ve worked with him, advocated for him and given him the patience and consistency he needs. We’ve also had him working with a trainer, and we’ve seen what he’s capable of. But he needs more than we can give him in his current environment. The next step is a professional board-and-train program, where he can receive the structured, consistent, one-on-one work he needs to build confidence and learn how to better navigate the things that scare him. The cost is $3,200. This isn’t about “fixing” a bad dog. He isn’t one. It’s about giving a great dog the tools he needs to feel safer, more confident and more comfortable in the world around him. His fosters have done everything asked of them. Now we need our village to help us give him this next step. Every $5, $10, $25 or $50 gets us closer to $3,200 — and closer to giving him the chance to thrive instead of simply trying to cope. Please consider donating or sharing his story. 🐾
