Friends, Our hearts are breaking with the amount of medical cases we have had come in lately. When we started as an organization, we made it our mission to rescue the underdogs. We wanted to make sure that the medically fragile always have a chance at a second life. That being said, medical cases like these drain our resources very quickly. We could not continue to do what we do without the help of our community. Some of our current medical cases: - Pogo has serious wounds from being used as a bait dog for fighting rings. He is in need of surgery and extensive wound care in order to have a chance at a normal life. - Buckey is battling parvovirus. He is fragile from his age and being thinner than he needs to be, and his treatment will cost us a lot of resources and funding. - Biance (Cat) has FIP and is battling everyday for her life. The medication for FIP is extremely expensive and is needed daily for her to fight for her life. - We have multiple cats right now with Panleuk. Not only does Panleuk require extensive medications and treatments, but also resources for quarantine such as disinfectants, gowns, booties, gloves, masks, etc. This use of resources drains our funding rapidly. We are reaching out for support from our community in order to give these animals a fighting chance at life. Any amount helps, no amount is too small. We will continue to keep you updated on these pets as best I can. Please reach out with any questions to becca@nawsus.org.
