A light-colored horse wearing a dark blanket stands behind a black fence in a snowy field, with a vibrant pink and orange sunset sky in the background.

Possum has carried countless vaulters, helped build confidence, and been a beloved partner and teacher to members of Great Falls Vaulters and the larger vaulting community. Now, he needs our help. While our team was competing at Nationals, we received difficult news: a biopsy of a growing lesion in Possum's mouth confirmed that it is cancer.Because of the location of the tumor and the complexity of removing it, Possum's veterinarian has recommended that he be treated at New Bolton Center, where specialists can perform the surgery and manage the care and recovery that will follow. We are raising funds to help Great Falls Vaulters cover the cost of Possum's surgery, veterinary treatment, and recovery. Like many nonprofit equestrian programs, our resources are limited, and an unexpected major veterinary expense like this has a significant impact.Possum has given so much to our vaulters over the years. He's more than a horse in our program. Possum is a teammate, a teacher, and a very loved member of the Great Falls Vaulters family and vaulting community. Every contribution, big or small, helps us get Possum the care he needs while continuing to care for the horses and athletes who make our program possible. Can't donate? Sharing Possum's fundraiser with your friends, fellow horse people, and local community helps a ton too! And for our Maryland-area friends: keep an eye out for some upcoming Intro to Vaulting clinics! We'll be raising money for Possum the fun way by convincing more people that climbing onto a horse and doing gymnastics is a perfectly reasonable hobby. 😄 Come try vaulting, have some fun, and help Possum at the same time!! Thank you for supporting Possum and Great Falls Vaulters. ❤️🐴
