🌟During early July&#39;s unprecedented heatwave, the Red Land Senior Center experienced firsthand the challenges that extreme temperatures can bring. Unfortunately, one of our HVAC units failed, leaving us with an urgent need to restore a safe, comfortable, and temperature-controlled environment for the center and those we will serve.Because of the unit&#39;s age and its reliance on obsolete R22 refrigerant technology, repair was not a viable long-term option. After reaching out to several local HVAC companies, we were grateful to partner with Handyside, who worked quickly to install a new heat pump and help us ensure our Center remains a safe place for our Seniors.While we are incredibly thankful that this critical repair was completed, this unexpected expense was not included in our budget. After recently purchasing our permanent home at 501 Market Street and investing significant resources to prepare the building for our Seniors&rsquo; return, this $19,000 HVAC replacement creates an additional financial challenge for our nonprofit organization.We are asking our community, friends, supporters, and neighbors to help us offset this unexpected cost.
