Her StoryMeet Polly Pocket, a brave 13-year-old senior dog who came to PupStarz Rescue in February 2026 with a heartbreaking list of medical needs. Found at the Manhattan ACC, this sweet girl was blind from hypermature cataracts, suffering from keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), needed to be spayed, required a dental procedure, and had multiple mammary tumors covering both mammary chains.<div> </div>Despite all her challenges, Polly Pocket's gentle spirit never wavered. She wagged her tail, sought affection, and showed everyone that she still had so much love to give. Her Journey to HealthSince arriving in our care, Polly has already undergone extensive treatment:<div> </div>✅ KCS Treatment: Transitioned to Tacrolimus eye drops, giving her much-needed relief✅ First Major Surgery (March 2026): Spay, dental with extractions, and removal of her entire left mammary chain✅ Biopsy Results: One mass was a low-grade complex mammary carcinoma, but it was completely removed with clean margins! The cancer hadn't spread to her lymph nodes or lungs—wonderful news!✅ Ongoing Care: Daily eye medications, pain management, and lots of TLC from her dedicated foster family What She Still NeedsPolly Pocket still requires her second chain mastectomy to remove the remaining mammary masses on her right side.
