Found at the Manhattan ACC, this sweet girl was blind from hypermature cataracts, suffering from keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), needed to be spayed, required a dental procedure, and had multiple mammary tumors covering both mammary chains.</p><div><br /></div><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">Despite all her challenges, Polly Pocket's gentle spirit never wavered. She wagged her tail, sought affection, and showed everyone that she still had so much love to give.</p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><br /></p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><strong>Her Journey to Health</strong></p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">Since arriving in our care, Polly has already undergone extensive treatment:</p><div><br /></div><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">✅ KCS Treatment: Transitioned to Tacrolimus eye drops, giving her much-needed relief</p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">✅ First Major Surgery (March 2026): Spay, dental with extractions, and removal of her entire left mammary chain</p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">✅ Biopsy Results: One mass was a low-grade complex mammary carcinoma, but it was completely removed with clean margins! The cancer hadn't spread to her lymph nodes or lungs—wonderful news!</p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">✅ Ongoing Care: Daily eye medications, pain management, and lots of TLC from her dedicated foster family</p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><br /></p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><strong>What She Still Needs</strong></p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">Polly Pocket still requires her second chain mastectomy to remove the remaining mammary masses on her right side. This critical surgery will give her the best chance at a comfortable, happy life.</p><div><br /></div><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">Additionally, we're currently facing unexpected medical expenses from sick cats in our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, putting our rescue in a financial bind.</p><div><br /></div><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><strong>The Numbers</strong></p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><strong><u>Polly Pocket's costs so far: Over $5,000</u></strong></p><div><br /></div><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">This includes:</p><div><br /></div><ul><li>Initial exam and diagnostics</li><li>Eye treatments and medications</li><li>Spay surgery</li><li>Dental procedure with extractions</li><li>First chain mastectomy</li><li>Biopsy costs</li><li>Post-operative care and pain management</li></ul><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><strong>Our Fundraising Goal: $8,000</strong></p><div><br /></div><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">This will cover:</p><div><br /></div><ul><li>Polly Pocket's second chain mastectomy ($2,000-3,000)</li><li>Continued medical care and medications</li><li>Unexpected medical expenses for our TNR cats</li><li>A small cushion for any complications or additional needs</li></ul><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%"><strong>Why Polly Pocket Matters</strong></p><p style="margin:0px;width:100%;line-height:1.5;max-width:100%">At PupStarz Rescue, we believe every animal deserves a chance, no matter their age or medical needs.
