This sweet boy is only about 9-months-old and 30 pounds, and the shelter described him as &ldquo;very scared but brave enough to allow exams despite significant pain.&rdquo; Despite everything he&rsquo;s been through, Sully remains soft, gentle, and incredibly sweet &mdash; like a little mouse just looking for someone to keep him safe. But Sully is facing serious orthopedic injuries that he cannot recover from without surgery. Veterinarians have diagnosed Sully with: &bull; Left hip is broken&bull; Carpal&nbsp;valgus&bull; Non-weight bearing on his rear leg with muscle loss due to the injury Right now, Sully is being managed with pain medication, but this is not a long-term solution. After an orthopedic evaluation on March 30th, it has been determined the best course of action is to start with the FHO Hip repair surgery, physical therapy/rehabilitation for that and then once better, look back into the front leg with carpal valgus. This fundraiser is specifically for his hip repair and therapy after. This surgery removes the damaged part of the hip joint so a &ldquo;false joint&rdquo; can form, allowing dogs to live comfortable, active lives without constant pain. Sully will also need an orthopedic consultation for his front leg deformity, which will most likely require additional treatment including surgery&nbsp;depending on what the specialist finds. We will have more updates on that once he is evaluated. We are raising $3,500 for Sully&rsquo;s medical care for his hip. If additional treatment is needed for his front leg, we will provide updates once we know more.
