How your khums is distributed 50% Sahm al-ImamReleased back to ALI Center by I.M.A.M. for our programming — the classes, gatherings, and services the community relies on. This half is the only part of your khums the center receives. 50% Sahm al-SādātStays with the Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya (I.M.A.M.), who distribute it to eligible sādāt in accordance with Islamic rulings. It does not come to ALI Center. You are not obliged to send the sādāt share through us. It may go to any eligible organization, or directly to sādāt you know to be in need — people who are often too embarrassed to ask. If you would rather give it yourself, pay the Imam's share here and direct the other half where you judge best. The I.M.A.M. office will provide you with a receipt confirming that your religious obligation has been fulfilled.
