An announcement for a Veterans Phalanx field trip to the Georgia War Veterans Home is displayed in gold and white text over a dark background featuring pine branches and a map of Georgia.

Help us show up for veterans this holiday seasonOn Friday, December 18, The Veterans Phalanx is heading to the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville with one goal: bring the community with us and build 175 thoughtful holiday gifts for the veterans who live there. The Home has given us a list of items veterans have specifically requested, including pajamas, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jackets, T-shirts, body wash, fragrance and body spray, holiday treats, and fresh fruit. But this is about more than putting things in boxes. We are leaving St. Marys together, traveling to Milledgeville as a community, spending time with the veterans at the Home, delivering the gifts, and making the day feel like what it should be — a shared holiday experience. They served. They are part of our community. This holiday season, we have an opportunity to show up for them. Financial contributions will help us purchase requested items that are not donated and cover the real costs of making the Field Trip happen, including transportation, fuel, packing supplies, food and water for volunteers, and other day-of needs. Community donations of requested goods will help stretch every dollar even further. Facta Non Verba — Deeds, Not Words.
