Sitka, AK 99835

Behind every new bridge, repaired boardwalk, and fresh stretch of gravel trail in Sitka is a truck bed full of dirty shovels, soaked chainsaw chaps, and four crew members heading out in the rain at dawn. In 2026 alone, Sitka’s trail crew poured over 3,000 hours of labor into our community's favorite trails. They work through Southeast Alaska’s relentless weather—carrying timber, gravel, and gear so the rest of us can appreciate the time in nature instead of navigating tripping hazards. But right now, our biggest bottleneck isn't the mud or the storms; it’s getting the crew and gear safely to the trailhead. To keep this work going, our crew needs a reliable vehicle that works as hard as they do. We were very fortunate to receive a matching grant from the Rasmuson Foundation, who has pledged to cover half the cost of a fleet upgrade. Donate to help us buy the work truck our crew needs—and show them that Sitka has their back. This Alaska Day, we're launching a fundraiser to keep the trail work rolling. Chip in for the ride so Sitka’s trails stay beautiful, accessible, and open for future generations!
