🧡 HELP US HELP THIS SWEET BOY 🧡This big orange boy is a super sweet stray who showed up at a local home limping and crying in pain. We immediately rushed him to our vet, where we learned that his elbow is completely dislocated. Our vet believes this injury was likely caused by him being hit by a car. We were told he had been seen frequently darting across a very busy road. Our vet attempted to put the joint back into place, but the injury was too advanced and he needed emergency treatment by an orthopedic specialist to repair his elbow (via "closed reduction"). He is in extreme pain and will need to wear a full body splint for the next month (which is very uncomfortable) with cage rest, and another month of cage rest without the splint before he can resume basic activity. The diagnostic X-rays, bloodwork, and an emergency orthopedic procedure by a specialist cost approximately $3,500. We are expected to pay another $1,000 for repeat bandage changes and x-rays by the specialist to make sure everything is healing property. This has been a huge and completely unexpected expense for our rescue. We’re asking our supporters to help us recoup the cost of this emergency procedure so we can continue helping the other cats who need us.Any amount helps — even $5 or $10 makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing his story means just as much. 🐾🧡Thank you for helping us give this sweet boy the second chance he deserves.
