ANNOUNCING: A New Fundraising Match until October 16th! Help us FINISH the sanctuary build! For the past two years, we have slowly been making progress towards the completion of our permanent cat sanctuary in Volcano. We bought the land, cleared and leveled it, put up cat proof fencing, and got the framing and roof done. HOWEVER, recently we had to pause the project, not only because of the stormy weather this summer, but also because the builder we were most recently working with unfortunately was not able to complete the project for a number of reasons. We pulled together and hired help to finish the roof, and then we knew we needed to bring in a new builder to help complete the sanctuary build so we can actually move our kitties from the current site. The builder we are working with now is fantastic, professional, experienced, and we are getting very excited with the prospect of the the completion of the sanctuary. We are finally feeling like the end is in sight, after more than two years at our temporary location. BUT, this new builder is coming with significant additional costs, above the budget and fundraising we previously completed. Because of the importance of keeping this build moving ahead, rather than stalling out, we need to proceed with the work, but are asking for help to get us over the finish line. In light of this big final push, the generous donor we worked with at the end of last year has stepped forward to do another major fundraising match! Which means, from TODAY until October 16th (National Feral Cat Day), every single dollar we raise will be DOUBLED, up to $50,000! I know, we are crying over here. This gives us about a month and a half to call in all the kitty loving angels in our community, both here on the islands and beyond, to pitch in whatever amount you can to help get this project completed, and to help support our ongoing budgetary needs for rescue, in light of our commitment to keep doing it side by side with our build. If you feel called, if you know a kitty-loving friend or donor, this is a time that each of their dollars will go further. We are holding the image of a completed build, and our kitties happily roaming around the incredible space that all of you have helped make happen.
