We are <a href="https://www.cosmostransports.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color:initial;user-select:auto;box-sizing:inherit" target="_blank">Cosmo's Dog Sanctuary & Pet Transports</a>, a 501c3 Non-profit organization (EIN 92-1092774) with the mission to provide the best long-term home for rescue dogs who cannot find permanent homes. We just moved, and we need your help to get this place to a dog-safe level.  We have finally achieved our long-time dream of buying some acres to turn into the perfect dog sanctuary. Northeastern Arizona is the location of our paradise. With its 6,480 feet in elevation, mixture of trees/open fields, and warm days/cold nights, it's the sandy paradise with the Milky Way views that we always wanted. And the dogs couldn't be happier. Deer, free-range cows, hares, roadrunners, birds, mice, bobcats, coyotes... they're all here. And that makes it difficult to keep all our rescues safe from the wildlife, and keep the wildlife safe from our rescues. Hence, we are asking for your help! We have already spent a couple thousand dollars on enough fencing materials (theoretically) to encompass the entire 4.5 acres in 8-foot-tall, no-climb fencing. However, because it is just the 2 of us, Francisco and Geraldine, that run the sanctuary and do the cross-country pet transports, it has been incredibly difficult to get this fence up! We have tried contracting daily help, but because we are in a very remote area, we have not found anyone willing to come out here. We have, however, found a very good man with the equipment, the team, and the knowledge to put this fence up right. This makes it manageable to keep everyone safe, but by no means is it easy. We have had a couple of incidents where the dogs have ran off to go harass the free-range cows. Thankfully, we are pretty good at keeping tabs on them, and we found them very quickly and no cows or dogs were hurt. What terrifies us more than cows being harassed is the rumor that has been going around in this community: there is a farmer out here that has shot at least 3 dogs, killing one, while the other 2 survived. It would be our worst nightmare for something like this to happen to these wonderful dogs, so we just cannot put off this fence any longer.
