Preserve a Rare Treasure of Pipe Organ Building and Local History As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Robert and Rita Schaffer Memorial Music Fund is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Historic Matthias Schwab Pipe Organ (1859), and continuance of the Cathedral Concert Series. Saved from destruction and rededicated in the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in 1974, this remarkable 19th-century mechanical-action instrument is one of the few surviving examples of its master builder still capable of speaking with its original voice. Today, it needs a comprehensive restoration to ensure that future generations can hear, study, and experience this extraordinary piece of our musical heritage.Your gift, of any amount, will help preserve its voice for generations to come. Discover the Schwab Organ and Its Extraordinary History A note about Zeffy: During checkout, Zeffy may suggest an additional contribution to support its free fundraising platform.
