A stone pathway leads through a gravel yard with tall grasses in the foreground, towards a damaged building with a charred exterior in the background.

The Rawley family lost their beloved multigeneration family home.                                             Please help them recover, reset their jobs, and more... A short account from Joey Rawley:  We have had a rough go of it this year, and we are extremely grateful for anyone who would be able to donate. We aren't looking for anything specific in value but did lose everything to the fire. We had an online reselling business and lost all our inventory. The business is now put on hiatus and defunct. This was our primary source of income, so we are currently deciding on what to do for work. We are trying to live in the present to help comfort our children and be there for them in their time of need. It is extremely difficult to explain how to be happy in such sadness, but we know our love for each other is what gets us through the tough times. We have 2 amazing kids age 14 and 12 who both have been so strong in this trying time. Our elderly parents have also been extremely emotionally strong through this, though I can see it has taken its toll. Any little bit would help. The fire consumed 60+ years of history from our family as the home had originally been owned by my grandparents. It had carried many fond memories. Such memories like Christmas dinners with ravioli making, and pasta with meatballs. Sunday after church brunches. A place to play cards and games with friends and family. Our home housed foster children for many years when I was younger. It was a place where anyone was accepted and welcome. It was where my friends and I had our high school graduation party years ago. It was a place of real joy and acceptance. It is devastating for us to not be able to share the home's wonderful comfort with generations to come. So many memories have been lost, historical letters from military sweethearts, yearbooks with special signatures, keepsakes from generations, and many more irreplaceable items. Our hearts are heavy, and go out to all of those who are feeling the same, but we also believe in living in the present with friends and family. We know that most importantly we are here to treat each other with love, compassion, caring, and respect especially in the hard times. Thank you! Please help St. Gregorios Orthodox Church support this family in their time of great need.  Christ's love and peace,Fr. George HatcherSt. Gregorios Orthodox Church Spokane, WA stgspokane.org
