We understand that many of the challenges youth face are complex deeply rooted, requiring, a compassionate, evidence-based approach.    The Problem in Our Communities  Our communities face alarming levels of violence, trauma and social challenges that disproportionately impact our youth * Youth Violence: Chicago face devastating levels of violence, 3,276 lives lost and 13, 546 non- fatal shootings reported between 2016 and 2020. Homicide is a leading cause of death for youth ages 10-24.* Domestic Violence: Approximately 1 in 5 female high school students in Chicago report being abused by a dating partner, and 40% of girls aged 14-17 know someone who has experience dating violence.*Substance Abuse: In the Chicago -Joliet- Naperville area, 1.1 million youth ages 12 and older report using illicit drugs in the past year, surpassing stare and national averages.* Child Abuse &amp; Neglect: In 2021, Illinois recorded 35,841 victims of child maltreatment, with neglect being the most common form of abuse. Our Response: Through mentorship, we teach essential life skills such as emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and self- empowerment. By fostering a growth mindset, we inspire youth to see challenges as opportunities for growth and leadership.
