Every week, we hear from adults whose kids experienced our programs: &ldquo;I wish this existed when I was a kid.&rdquo; That sentence holds so much: nostalgia, regret, hope&hellip; and an invitation. This Giving Tuesday, Columbus Fashion Academy and our nonprofit of choice The Fashion Community are officially launching Creative Confidence for Every Child. Our aim is simple and urgent: to turn &ldquo;I wish this existed when I was a kid&rdquo; into &ldquo;I&rsquo;m so glad it exists for my kid &mdash; and for kids who would otherwise be left out.&quot; Here&rsquo;s what we&rsquo;re really doing behind the needles and fabric: If you ever wished someone had seen your creativity as essential, not &ldquo;extra,&rdquo; this is your chance to change that story for the next generation. Your gift helps a child walk into a room where they aren&rsquo;t &ldquo;too much,&rdquo; &ldquo;too weird,&rdquo; or &ldquo;too sensitive&rdquo; &mdash; they&rsquo;re exactly right, just as they are. You&rsquo;re not just donating to a fashion program. You&rsquo;re funding a mental, social, and environmental reset &mdash; using creativity as the tool.&nbsp; Our students learn to transform waste into wonder using pre-loved materials.They collaborate across ages and backgrounds.They build confidence, agency, and a new relationship with clothes and consumption. Through Creative Confidence for Every Child, Giving Tuesday support will: Train and support our artist-educators, so we can fairly compensate them and extend our hours to serve more kids throughout the year.Provide a limited number of sliding-scale spots when families are going through hard seasons.Deepen our sustainability work, turning donated and discarded materials into powerful learning and connection valuable experiences instead of landfill.
