Dear Friends of The Academy at Ocean Reef, Since its founding in 1989, The Academy has grown and thrived because of the generosity of present and former Academy parents, alumni, friends and supporters. Our benefactors share a common belief, The Academy delivers on its mission to provide a nurturing and challenging educational environment, infused with character education, to position students for future leadership and success. Since 2019 when I began my journey as The Academy&rsquo;s Head of School, The Academy has grown from 39 to over 90 students. As part of this growth, we have expanded our educational offerings, including our performing arts programs, and implemented a field studies program that allows all of our students to benefit from multiple hands-on learning experiences in the areas of marine and environmental sciences. With the increase in our student population, we have also implemented a robust student support service program that allows students in need to receive one-on-one clinical services in speech, language, and occupational therapy. The Annual Fund strategically supports a recurring effort by The Academy to provide an unparalleled private school educational experience to children and grandchildren of Members, Associates, and independent employees at The Ocean Reef Club. Donations directly support our operating budget and enable us to:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Continue providing over 70% of our full-time student population with financial aid, focused exclusively on ORC Associates and ORC service providers.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Expand our academic, field studies, athletic, and student support service programs.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Hire and retain exceptional teachers.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Support our staff&rsquo;s professional development.</li></ul>The Academy is a unique place within a very special community. A school where every child is made to feel known, needed, and loved! A place where children aged 18 months through 8th grade benefit from a superior, values-based education taught by a caring and exemplary staff. A place from where students transition successfully to tier one private high schools in Miami and around the country such as Ransom Everglades, Gulliver Academy, Palmer Trinity, Culver Academy and Tabor Academy. On behalf of all our Academy families and our Board of Trustees, I ask everyone in the community to make the Annual Fund their highest philanthropic priority this year. Last year&rsquo;s gifts ranged from $100 to over $100,000. We hope all donors will make a personally significant contribution to positively impact the lives of our Academy students. For years, we have been proud to report that we have had 100% participation by our faculty and dedicated Board of Trustees.
