IVAN'S STORYIn the fall of 2022, eighteen-year-old Ivan Ermenc was excited about the future. He had recently began preparing for his career, proudly wearing the new safety boots he had purchased for the journey ahead. Like many young adults, he was making plans to establish himself, get an apartment, and build a life of his own. On November 2, 2022, our lives changed forever when Ivan's life was tragically taken in a traffic accident just days into his new career. While we cannot change what happened, we can choose how we honor Ivan's life. His kindness, generosity, and determination continue to inspire us; and through Ivan's Boots, his dream lives on by helping others pursue theirs. THE MISSIONIvan's Boots was established to remove one of the first financial barriers many students face as they enter skilled trades and technical careers: the cost of required safety equipment. Through the Ivan's Boots Scholarship Fund, we provide scholarships that help students purchase safety boots and other required protective equipment so they can begin their education and careers with confidence. Each $250 scholarship helps provide the essential equipment students need to take that next step toward their future. Scholarships are available to eligible students enrolled in qualifying career and technical education programs, including students returning to the workforce for a new career and incarcerated students preparing for successful employment after their release. HOW YOU CAN HELPIn honor of Ivan's birthday on August 6, we're raising funds for the upcoming semester's scholarships. Whether you give enough to provide one pair of boots or contribute any amount toward a scholarship, your generosity helps remove financial barriers for students working toward a better future. Every dollar makes a difference! Together, we can honor Ivan's legacy — one student, one opportunity, and one pair of boots at a time.
