Help us bridge a critical funding gap, protect the peer-led recovery services our community depends on, and build a stronger, more sustainable future for O.U.R. Place. O.U.R. Place has always been a bit of an underdog... We are a small, peer-led Recovery Community Organization doing a big job: helping people navigate recovery, treatment, housing, behavioral health services, basic needs, family challenges, crisis situations — and all of the complicated spaces in between. We work alongside treatment providers, hospitals, courts, behavioral health agencies, housing programs and community organizations throughout our region. Many of the people who walk through our doors are already connected to other programs. But sometimes a referral isn't enough.Sometimes someone needs another phone call. Another ride. Another conversation. Someone willing to help them figure out what comes next. Somewhere they can walk back into after a setback and still be welcomed. That is where O.U.R. Place comes in. RIGHT NOW, THAT WORK IS AT RISK.Funding cuts, lost grant revenue and increased operating costs have created a critical gap during the final months of our current funding cycle. Without additional support, we are facing decisions we do not want to make — including reducing staffing and services at a time when our community still needs them. Our team already does extraordinary work with limited resources. Sustainability cannot mean asking peer workers to continually do more with less. The people helping other families rebuild their lives deserve the ability to provide stability for their own families, too. So yes — we need help keeping our doors open right now.But we don't want to raise enough money to survive a few more months only to find ourselves facing the exact same problem again. WE WANT TO LEVEL UP.Our vision is to build the next chapter of O.U.R. Place around both access and sustainability. Ravenna continues to have a significant need for low-barrier peer support, recovery meetings, resource navigation and brokering, crisis support, and services for people experiencing chronic homelessness, serious mental health challenges and other complex barriers. At the same time, we have teamed up with the owner of Zenning, a wellness expert, to help expand O.U.R. Place in Kent and develop a new Family Recovery & Wellness Hub.This partnership gives us the opportunity to bring together peer-led recovery support with family programming, youth services, wellness, sober social connection and new earned-revenue services under one roof. The goal isn't simply to move. The goal is to build a stronger model that allows us to continue reaching people with the greatest needs while developing new services, partnerships and revenue streams that make O.U.R. Place less vulnerable to the next grant cut. And getting there takes capital. We need funding to secure and prepare space, move, furnish and equip programs, develop wellness services, build out revenue-generating opportunities — and keep today's services running while we build tomorrow's.OUR COMMUNITY IS ALREADY STEPPING UP.This October, Matt Keegan, 2Fluent and The Rusty Zippers are lending their time and talents to Sober October Recovery Fest as part of the effort to raise funds for O.U.R. Place. Sober October has always been about showing our community that recovery can be joyful, connected and worth celebrating. This year, it represents something bigger too: musicians, volunteers, businesses, community partners and neighbors coming together to help make sure this grassroots organization can keep doing the work — and build what comes next. We're inviting you to be part of that effort.KEEP OUR DOORS OPEN.
