The Crystal has been part of Main Street since 1949. After closing in the 1960s, it was brought back to life by Bob and Kathy Ezra in the early 1980s and remained fiercely independent under their stewardship for 40 years. Over the past year, The Crystal welcomed more than 10,500 unique visits for 185 first-run screenings, 40 repertory screenings, 73 film and live events, and 49 free public events. We collaborated with 33 organizations, celebrated 26 sold-out movies, and benefited from more than 3,000 volunteer hours. This extraordinary response shows both how deeply The Crystal matters and how much more it can offer. Significant upgrades are needed to meet growing demand and expand what is possible within the space, from film and live performance to youth programs and civic gatherings, while preserving the character and intimacy that make The Crystal unlike anywhere else in the valley.
