🌟 Wheelchair repair and reuse! 🌟 Learn to fix wheelchairs at GOAT Space - mutual aid workshops led by and for disabled people! Wheelchair, powerchair, and rollator users depend on having working mobility gear in good condition, but this gear often breaks, while repairs are difficult , expensive, and slow. GOAT's free, open access workshop, along with our Tune Up classes and regular Learning Labs and hack days, keeps our fellow wheelchair users rolling!! We fix lots of devices –– Walkers, rollators, scooters, manual chairs, and powerchairs! GOAT Space, our community workshop, is open to the public, providing tools and a warehouse of free parts and materials. We train community members in maintenance skills, with peer support learning labs, tune up sessions, fix-a-thons, and research build days! GOAT takes in donated equipment, fix it, and give it to people who need it in the Bay Area. And we research equipment (open hardware and software) to better enable this sort of longevity, now and in the future! Help us make a world where we keep these complex, expensive devices out of landfill, and get them directly to disabled community. Working with our local network of nonprofits, we're teaching wheelchair users, along with their friends and family, DIY repair skills! Our workshop model includes not just classes, but also, structured peer learning groups, hands-on build and fabrication days, and several "paths" to earn badges in open AAC, adaptive digital access, powerchair customization, battery testing, manual chair maintenance, as well as seating and positioning and accessory design. How you can help :

Donate: We pay our assistive tech team, we give free equipment and parts to people and local nonprofits, and we pay rent on our community workshop.

Share: Please share our campaign with your friends, family, and on social media.

Volunteer: You are very welcome at GOAT Space! Drop in any time we are open – we can always use extra help.

We are disabled people working to change the ecosystem of repair and reuse, to build a world where everyone has access to the assistive technology they need!

Cómo puedes ayudar a impulsar nuestra misión:
