Alyson is one of ours—a neighbor, a friend, a member of this small town we all love. Small Town Big Hearts, Inc is coming together to help ease the weight she is carrying right now.  For 15 years, Alyson has been one of the people who makes the Massapequa community feel like home. Through the MassaPicnic—an annual picnic that brings graduates of Berner and Massapequa High Schools back from across the country—she has helped friends reconnect, lifelong bonds grow stronger, and generations of Pequans celebrate the hometown they love. Now, it is our turn to come together for Alyson. In early December 2025, Alyson became critically ill when a case of the flu quickly progressed to sepsis. She spent time in the ICU on life support and required a feeding tube. While she has made great progress, she continues to face ongoing medical challenges and has been unable to work for the past 10 months. The loss of income, along with mounting medical expenses, has placed a tremendous financial burden on Alyson. Small Town Big Hearts is asking our community to surround her with the same kindness, care, and support she has shared with others for so many years. One hundred percent of every donation received will go directly to Alyson. Every contribution, no matter the amount, can help relieve some of the financial stress and give Alyson the space and peace of mind to focus on her continued healing and recovery. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Alyson in your thoughts and prayers. Your support, encouragement, and compassion can mean more than you know.Alyson has spent years bringing Pequans together and creating moments that remind us what community truly means. Now, let’s come together for her and show Alyson just how powerful that community can be when one of our own needs us most.
