For many kids, learning to ski, snowboard, or mountain bike feels out of reach. The cost of equipment, transportation, instruction, food, and the time required from working parents can create a long list of barriers before a child ever gets the chance to try. At Cuchara Mountain Park, we believe those barriers shouldn&#39;t determine which kids get to experience the mountains. Our youth mountain bike and ski/snowboard camps are designed to be truly all-inclusive: registration covers gear, transportation, instruction, and food. This means a child can show up with no prior experience&mdash;and no expensive equipment&mdash;and discover something they never thought they could do. In our most recent mountain bike camp, half of the participating families needed scholarships. Some of those kids had never ridden a bike before. One parent told us, &ldquo;I was honestly hesitant about sending my kids because I thought they might not like it because two could not ride at all... Not only did they learn and do well, but I feel the camp and instructors instilled a love for the outdoors in my children.&rdquo; Your donation helps make that possible. $100 provides a full scholarship for one child, giving them the opportunity to learn a new sport, explore their local mountains, build confidence, and make new friends.
