From Spring Equinox until Hallows Eve, Many Hands 4 Light Work&nbsp;runs farm chores, educational workshops, and field trips to partner farms across Virginia. From November through February, the program pivots to mutual aid — restocking hygiene pantries, managing community refrigerators, and assembling Petersburg C.A.R.E.S. packages for families across the city. Why we are raising funds… Farmer Larry Bartenstein showed up to the Oasis Youth Farm every single week as a volunteer — before Many Hands existed, before it was a program. His commitment inspired us to formalize what our village was already doing. We are funding a paid Volunteer Coordinator role for Larry because this work deserves someone who knows it deeply, who can steward partnerships, track impact, and keep Many Hands running reliably year after year.
