Help Us Match Our USA Archery Grant &mdash; and Keep Houston Archers Shooting We are honored to have received a $1,920 Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grant from USA Archery to help repair the targets at X10 Archery Academy. That grant will cover almost half the cost of replacing the badly worn front layer of foam across our indoor target wall. Now we need our community&#39;s help to finish the job. Our custom target system was built nearly ten years ago and contains 54 large blocks of high-density archery foam. Through years of heavy use, volunteer repairs, expanding foam, patching &mdash; and, lately, even cardboard across the front &mdash; we have stretched its lifespan as far as we possibly can. But our athletes still need somewhere safe and reliable to shoot. Our immediate goal is to replace the entire front layer: 18 new foam blocks, giving our targets the integrity they need to carry us through the 2026&ndash;27 indoor season. This is a bridge to something much bigger. X10 has applied for additional grant funding that would allow us to completely rebuild our target wall with new professional target systems in 2027. We hope to learn the outcome of that application in the New Year. Until then, we have to keep the arrows flying.
