Dear Mississippi Church Leaders, &ldquo;Then the King will say&hellip; &lsquo;I was in prison and you came to visit me.&rsquo;&rdquo; &mdash; Matthew 25:36Have you ever wondered what it truly looks like to answer the call found in Matthew 25:36-40? Many churches across Mississippi faithfully serve their communities every day through food ministries, outreach, missions, and discipleship. Yet one of the greatest mission fields in our state is often difficult to plus into &mdash; the men and women who are currently incarcerated or working to rebuild their lives after release. At MAGCOR, we believe every person deserves the opportunity for redemption, restoration, and a second chance. Every day, our Reentry Division works across the entire state of Mississippi to come alongside incarcerated and formerly incarcerated Mississippians through workforce development, life skills training, digital literacy education, job readiness, mentorship, transitional support, and reentry services designed to help individuals rebuild stronger futures for themselves and their families. What many people do not realize is this: MAGCOR receives no state funding to provide this reentry work. While we hope for the day when the state will invest in this pivotal piece of true rehabilitation for the incarcerated, we must in the meantime find partners to keep this work going. This mission continues because individuals, organizations, and communities choose to invest in hope and transformation. Today, we are asking Mississippi churches to join us in this work in a simple but powerful way. If every church in Mississippi donated just $100, together we could help sustain this life-changing work for another year.That small gift will help us continue reaching men and women who are trying to:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;" type="disc"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">reconnect with their families,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">gain employment,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">overcome addiction,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">find transitional housing,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">learn new skills,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">restore dignity,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">get critical healthcare needs met,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">locate necessary mental health access points,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">and become productive members of their communities.</li></ul>When reentry succeeds, families become stronger, communities become safer, and lives are changed for generations. We believe the Church in Mississippi cares deeply about restoration and redemption.
