A stone and stucco building with wooden porches and a red door sits under a cloudy night sky.

Your gift to the Michael Cresap Museum, Inc. 250th Anniversary Fund Raising Campaign helps with the operating costs (insurance, maintenance, utilities) of the 1764 historic house built on a hillside over a natural spring in the mountains of Western Maryland. Your donation brings the 18th‑century American frontier to life for visitors of all ages. From school children to historians, to multiple generations of families from around the country and the world, this place-based experience is rare and offers history lessons from unique perspectives. Visitors will pause inside the rooms and stand on the original wood flooring where Cresap's Rifles stood and where young families said their final goodbyes to fathers and frontiersmen as they all choose freedom during the early days of the American Revolution. The Michael Cresap House is on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned by the Michael Cresap Museum, Inc., founded in 1975 in Maryland as a 501c3, non-profit corporation.
