We’d like to invite you to be part of something special, something new, and something we truly believe can be a gamechanger for Iola High School students: the Mustang Acceleration Scholarship. Put broadly, the Mustang Acceleration Scholarship will offer qualifying Iola High School students the opportunity to take dual-credit college classes for free. For too long, the financial situation of our students’ families has determined whether they can afford to take dual-credit classes in high school. It’s prevented students from taking full advantage of their potential, and it puts them at a disadvantage once they leave our district. That’s what the Mustang Acceleration Scholarship aims to end. We hope to build a culture where students seize every opportunity available to them, no matter their families’ income. The USD 257 Endowment Association has started initial fundraising efforts. That’s why we’re reaching out to you. We believe in this effort, and we’re asking you to join us! Our goal is to raise $100,000 to cover the rst year of the program. The Endowment Association estimates that amount will allow us to not just cover initial tuition costs, but also endow the scholarship for future growth and stability. We can’t imagine building something like this only to have it disappear. You can learn more about the scholarship and our vision here: www.usd257.org/endowment. You can also contact the Endowment board president Dana Daugharthy at 620-365-4726 and via email at dana.daugharthy@usd257.org. We invite you to consider becoming one of our founding donors. Thank you for your time, your interest, and your commitment to Iola.
