The Nuria I. Fernandez Scholarship Fund honors one of public transportation&#39;s most respected leaders by investing in the students who will carry the industry forward. The fund was established with a $10,000 founding gift from Raquel Olivier, CPA, MBA, Founder and President/CEO of Olivier, Inc., announced at the 2026 LIT Leadership Summit in Columbus, Ohio. It celebrates Fernandez&#39;s decades of public service, including her tenure as the 15th Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration, her leadership as Chair of APTA&#39;s Board of Directors, and her selection for the APTA Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Nuria helped open doors for Latinos In Transit, and this scholarship extends that legacy to students pursuing careers connected to public transportation. Administered by LIT&#39;s Scholarship Committee, the scholarship will be awarded through a competitive application process, with applications opening in January 2027.
