David's dog training facilities have funded his 501(c)(3) Pacific Coast Dog Rescue (PCDR), a no-kill rescue and sanctuary caring for 98 dogs. Additionally, David trains dogs with more extreme behavioral issues for other dog rescues, including the Jason Heigl Foundation, a dog rescue in Utah founded by Katherine and Nancy Heigl. In 2022, David transported 37 rescue dogs from Southern California to Salmon, Idaho, where he has been working to establish the PCDR Idaho sanctuary for dogs that are more challenging to place in forever homes and dogs with health issues. In 2024, David transported 23 senior dogs from Southern California to PCDR's Texas branch, run by Ingrid Hurel in Coryell County. The rescue/sanctuary has three outdoor exercise yards for the dogs.
