We are so excited for the opportunity to go to Pakistan in a few weeks, Feb 13th-24th, to serve the persecuted Christians in Lahore that Our Refuge, Wholly Women support. We will also be traveling with our good friend Sherri, who is a missionary with Cru. While we are there we will have a full schedule making the most of every opportunity to encourage believers and share the gospel. We will be ministering to elementary students, high school students, women enrolled in 2 different sewing schools and a beauty school, at 2 church plants, various bible study groups, to pastors, women, married couples and among some of the poorest of the poor in the brick kilns communities.If you are interested in supporting our trip, there are a few ways you can participate:<ul><li>Donate $ towards our travel and on-ground costs totaling $4000. </li><li>Donate items we are collecting to take in the 9x 50lbs suitcases we have allowance for between us. Wash used items. Gently used means no holes, frayed end, stains, or obvious wear and tear. Also, keep in mind that these dear people are smaller in stature; no XLs. ⁃ Scarves - for head coverings and warm neck scarves (for winter) ⁃ Warm winter Gloves - for men and women, children. ⁃ Socks - men, women’s, children (these should be new) ⁃ Children and baby clothing , baby blankets, Diapers, Sanitary pads. ⁃ Ladies jackets or blazer types for church. Ladies new or gently used bras. ⁃ Coats- puffy kind would be nice that will squish down in luggage. ⁃ Toiletries - tooth brushes, tooth pastes, soaps, shampoos, etc. travel size preferred as they can be widely distributed among the children. (Often dental clinics will donate). ⁃ Coloring books, crayons, colored pencils. ⁃ Men’s dress clothing -shirts, pants, belts etc. (No ties needed). ⁃ Men’s shoes - good quality leather shoes. (Can often find nice, good quality gently used at goodwill) ⁃ Women’s shoes - smaller heels.- A violin (for the pastor's 15 yr old daughter to learn on)
