Natalya is 48 years old. She is an artist.Natalya is seeking protection in the United States because of the political persecution she faced for her anti-war position, and because of the violence and severe trauma she went through in Russia. As a result of that experience, she lives with severe depression, PTSD, panic episodes, anxiety, and insomnia.Since September 24, 2024, she has been held in detention: no freedom, none of the life she knew, no chance to get proper treatment and recover in peace.Natalya was denied asylum, and her appeal was denied as well. Her only remaining chance to keep fighting for protection is federal court. A new appeal is a chance to keep this case from ending in deportation and to continue the fight. We are Russian Seattle for Freedom. We bring people together and take collective action to support those harmed by Russian state repression. The full cost of the legal work on Natalya's case is $10,500. To avoid deportation, we had to dip into our reserves and urgently pay a $4,500 retainer. The attorney has reserved the appeal. We are now raising the remaining $6,000, and we have to do it before the court date. Please help us keep fighting for Natalya. Any amount matters. If you can't donate, please share this fundraiser.
